What is Hockey Fights Cancer?
Founded in 1998 by the National Hockey League® and the National Hockey League Players' Association, Hockey Fights Cancer™ (HFC) unites the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. The initiative gets an assist from players, coaches, officials, equipment managers, front office staff, corporate partners, and fans. Together, the hockey family looks to inspire hope and courage for those who are living with, going through and moving past cancer.
Newfoundland Growlers Fights Cancer Night
The Growlers will host Hockey Fights Cancer™ night at Mile One Centre when they take on the Toledo Walleye on Saturday, November 16th.
The Game will feature special messaging from the Growlers players and invited guests to help raise awareness. Special Hockey Fights Cancer™ placards will be available on the concourse by donation and fans are invited to showcase them during a special moment of recognition during the game.
OUR CHARITABLE PARTNER
All proceeds raised through our 50/50 initiative on November 16th will be directed to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation where donations fund programs and services for cancer patients and their families at cancer centres throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
