Game StoryThe Growlers ended their two-game losing skid with a 5-2 victory over the Maine Mariners at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine Saturday night.Aaron Luchuk opened the scoring for the Growlers after banging in a loose puck in the crease of Mariners goaltender Conner LaCouvee midway through the first period. The Mariners responded late in the frame when Terrence Wallin finished off a two-on-one play to tip the puck behind Growlers goalie Maksim Zhukov. The teams entered the second period tied at one.The Growlers scored twice in the second, one coming on the powerplay from Colt Conrad and the other from Joseph Duszak who registered his first ECHL goal. Six minutes into the third period Wallin scored his second of the game for the Mariners but the Growlers bit right back as Evan Neugold scored on a blast from the blue line and Riley Woods added an empty-net goal to secure a 5-2 victory for the Growlers.Quick Hits
