Game StoryThe Newfoundland Growlers finished their seven-game road trip with a 5-2 win over the Maine Mariners on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Arena. Brady Ferguson opened the scoring at 3:58 into the second period, beating Mariners goalie Connor Lacouvee. The Growlers proceeded to score their second of the night as forward Marcus Power tucked it into the Mariners net 15 minutes into the period, giving Newfoundland a 2-0 lead heading into the dressing room. Maine started the third period strong as Ted Hart put up their first goal of the night at 6:07. Just 19 seconds later, Jake Elmer tied the game, beating Growlers goaltender Angus Redmond just over the glove. Brady Ferguson responded two minutes later, scoring his second goal of the night as he capitalized on the powerplay. The Growlers found a 2 goal lead 14:43 into the final frame, as Trey Bradley slid the puck past Lacouvee. Dylan Vander Esch scored his first ever Growlers goal into the empty net, securing the 5-2 victory for the squad from Newfoundland.Quick Hits
