Zach O'Brien Assigned To Growlers

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that forward Zach O’Brien has been re-assigned to the club by the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

O’Brien, a 30-year-old St. john’s native, currently leads the ECHL in scoring with 35 points (8G, 27A) in 18 games played for Newfoundland this season. During his recent callup with Toronto, he collected two points (1G, 1A) in two appearances.

The franchise' all-time leading scorer and a Kelly Cup champion with the Growlers back in 2019, O’Brien also won an AHL title in 2015 during his time with the Manchester Monarchs.

Newfoundland return to the Mary Brown’s Centre this weekend for two more meetings with the Iowa Heartlanders on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are available now at nlgrowlers.com/tickets.
