SERIES PREVIEW | MARCH 15-18 VS. ADIRONDACK

The Newfoundland Growlers play the back half of a six game homestand this week as they host the Adirondack Thunder for three in a row starting on Wednesday night at Mary Brown’s Centre.

Newfoundland took on a formidable opponent at home this past weekend as they grabbed three points from a possible six in a tripleheader against the Reading Royals. Following the weekend, the Growlers remain 10 points clear atop the North Division standings with the trending Royals one behind in 2nd place.

Adirondack continue to scratch and claw to sneak into the playoff picture, winning back-to-back games this past weekend over the Trois-Rivières Lions.

Nine points behind the fourth place Worcester Railers with two games in hand, the Thunder will be desperate to collect every possible point in their final 15 regular season games.

Despite a 26 point gap in the standings between the Growlers and Thunder, it’s been a hotly contested fixture in 2022-23 with each team winning four of their previous eight meetings so far this season.

With a chance to secure a post season place in this series on the line for Newfoundland and Adirondack fighting for their playoff lives, expect a competitive trio of games between two North Division rivals.

Puck drops is set for 7:00 pm on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. Growlers fans can watch all three games live on FloSports (subscription required), listen to the call on Mixlr, or follow along on Twitter (@NLGrowlers) for game updates and highlights. Tickets for all three games can be purchased at nlgrowlers.com/tickets.

WHO TO WATCH:

NFL – Orrin Centazzo (F): Spending the last three weeks in the AHL with the Marlies, his last game with the Growlers was a hat-trick performance in Trois-Rivières on February 22. Expect a high flying #29 returning to the Mary Brown’s Centre against the Thunder.

ADK – Xavier Parent(F): Second on the Adirondack roster in both goals (22) and points (49), it’s been an impressive rookie pro season for the 21-year-old Blainville native.
