GROWLERS SIGN JOSEPH MURDACA

ST. JOHN’S, NL - The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that the club has signed goaltender Joseph Murdaca to a Standard Player Contract.

Spending time with three different ECHL teams across the 2021-22 season, the 24-year-old Hamilton native featured in one game with each of the Wheeling Nailers and Cincinnati Cyclones before making 14 appearances with the Atlanta Gladiators where he amassed a 10-3-1 record.

Murdaca also appeared in two AHL games last year with the Abbotsford Canucks, picking up victories in both outings.

With Dryden McKay being recalled by the Toronto Marlies, Murdaca joins Luke Cavallin as the two active goalies on the Newfoundland roster.

The Growlers return to the Mary Brown’s Centre on Friday, November 11 as they host the Norfolk Admirals for the first time ever. Tickets for this weekend and remainder of the regular season are available now.
