TORONTO MARLIES RECALL GOALIE KEITH PETRUZZELLI

TORONTO MARLIES RECALL GOALIE KEITH PETRUZZELLI

ST. JOHN'S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that goaltender Keith Petruzzelli has been recalled to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Petruzzelli, 22, has appeared in five games thus far this season for Newfoundland, posting a superb 4-1-0-0 record with a 1.60 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage.

The Wilbraham, Massachusetts native was named the ECHL’s Goalie of the Week for the week ending October 24, and also earned the league’s top monthly honours as Goalie of the Month for the first month of the season.

Petruzzelli spent the last four seasons playing college hockey at Quinnipiac University, where he played in 94 career games, posting a record of 51-27-8 with 10 shutouts, a 2.17 goals-against average and a .915% save percentage.

Newfoundland is on the road for its next five contests, beginning with a game against the Reading Royals at Santander Arena on Friday night.
