ST. JOHN’S, NL –The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that goaltender Keith Petruzzelli has been reassigned to the Growlers from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
Petruzzelli, 22, returns having played one game for the Marlies, collecting his first AHL start and victory against the Cleveland Monsters on November 27 in Toronto.
As a member of the Growlers this season, Petruzzelli has appeared in five contests, posting a 4-1-0-0 record with a 1.60 goals against average and a .952 save percentage.
His strong, consistent play resulted in multiple early-season accolades, including Warrior Hockey/ECHL Goaltender of the Week Honours for the week ending October 24, as well as Goaltender of the Month honours for the month of October.
In a corresponding move, the Growlers have released goaltender Kris Oldham from his Standard Player Contract. Oldham dressed for all five Growler games during the club’s recent road trip, but did not appear in game action.
The Growlers are back in action on Wednesday, December 1 as they host the Reading Royals at the Mary Brown’s Centre. Tickets are on-sale now at nlgrowlers.com/singletickets
