GROWLERS SIGN KYLE McGRATH TO A PTO

GROWLERS SIGN KYLE McGRATH TO A PTO

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, are pleased to announce that St. John’s native Kyle McGrath has signed a Professional Try Out contract (PTO) with the Growlers for the upcoming 2021-22 ECHL season.

McGrath, a 22-year-old right-shooting winger, played parts of two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles from 2016-17 and 2017-18 and appeared in 38 total games, collecting four goals and two helpers.

In 2018-19, he made the jump to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and played alongside fellow Newfoundlander Alex Newhook. In 18 BCHL games, McGrath recorded three goals and eight assists for 11 points.
