TORONTO MARLIES RECALL ZACH O'BRIEN

TORONTO MARLIES RECALL ZACH O'BRIEN

ST. JOHN'S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that St. John’s native and 2019 Kelly Cup Playoff MVP Zach O’Brien has been recalled to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

O’Brien, the 29-year-old veteran, leads the Growlers in goals (10), assists (18) and points (28) through 21 games played this season. His 28 points is good for third in the ECHL.

O’Brien joins the Marlies amidst some of his strongest play of the season. He has scored three goals in his last two games played and is currently enjoying a four-game point streak, which includes three goals and three assists for six points.

The 5-11 forward has played eight career games with the Marlies between the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, scoring a goal and adding one assist while wearing the blue and white.
