TORONTO MARLIES ASSIGN JEREMY McKENNA TO NEWFOUNDLAND

TORONTO MARLIES ASSIGN JEREMY McKENNA TO NEWFOUNDLAND

ST. JOHN’S, NL –The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that forward Jeremy McKenna has been assigned to the club from the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies.

McKenna, 22, began the season in Newfoundland and attended Growlers training camp, but was recalled to the Marlies before playing a game.

The Summerside, Prince Edward Island native has appeared in six games with the Marlies thus far this season and has recorded one assist and two penalty minutes.

Last season in 2020-21, McKenna was the Toronto Marlies’ sixth leading scorer, collecting 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in 28 games played.

The Growlers kick off a five-game road trip on Friday night at Santander Arena against the Reading Royals.
